IALCCE2016 theme: Civil engineering from a life-cycle perspective

The recent economic crisis led to new perspectives on society. It has shown the world that short-term thinking does not serve society in a proper way. Meanwhile, society is facing the effects of short-term thinking in the past, ranging from climate change, pollution to social impacts. Life-cycle thinking and the strive towards a circular economy, are the new ways to go and will necessarily lead to a paradigm-shift in view of creating a sustainable society.READ MORE
